We believe everyone has the right to privacy. We only collect as much data as needed to provide you with any services we offer and give you the best experience we can. It should be a given, but you should know we will never sell, rent, lease, or otherwise abuse your personal information. That said, we do utilize third-party services, including social media and digital marketplaces, which have their own privacy policies, and interacting with us through those services also falls under their privacy policy, as applicable (just as it would anytime you visit their site or use their service, whether to interact with us or for another reason.)
For third party services used through our website, we will update this privacy policy, as applicable, with information on how your data may be used in conjunction with those services.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Newsletter
When you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email address for the sole purpose of sending you the news and updates you signed up for. You may also provide your name, which is completely optional; this is just so we can know who to address our emails to, for a slightly more personal touch. Signing up for the newsletter is an explicit consent process; we will never add you to the mailing list unless you ask us to. You may receive a confirmation and welcome email during the process to validate you are opting in to our mailing list.
contact forms and emails
If you send us a message through a contact form or directly email us, we will use any personal information you willingly provide to us for the purpose of communicating with you.
We will hold on to this information for as long as is reasonably required to fulfill customer service, administration, or support purposes. We will never use this information for marketing purposes.
Your email and included information may be checked through automated spam and malicious code detection services. This is to protect us, you, and our service providers from malignant, abusive, or otherwise disruptive practices, so we can all continue with as great of experience as possible.
User submitted feedback, content, or comments
If you provide any feedback or comments to us in communications through our site, email, or social media outlets, we may make and keep a separate note or copy of the content indefinitely, in order to improve our services and user experiences. We will not keep any personally identifiable information attached to this copy, ourselves. Otherwise, we will keep a copy with your personally information connected only as long as is required for administrative or legal purposes.
If you provide a really awesome comment or feedback, we may ask if you are willing for us to share that comment/feedback with others publicly and if/what personal information you feel comfortable sharing (i.e. if we can put your first name or gamertag to attribute the quote). This is completely optional and in no means are you obligated to do so. We may share this feedback in any number of means, such as on our website, social media, or store page. If you decide you no longer wish for us to use your quote, just contact us via e-mail or through the channel the quote was published on, and we will not use it going forward. (Please note: on certain platforms we may not be able to immediately remove or amend the quote, but we will do our part to have it update as soon as possible.)
Copies of this content may be connected to personally identifiable user information on the platform through which the comments were made, such as your social media account on the social media site or service, and may or may not be removable or amendable, subject to their terms.
Embedded content from other websites
Pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Who we share your data with
Your data may be shared with, or move through, third-party providers for the sole purpose of providing you with our services. For example, to our mailing list administrator, in order to send you our newsletter (if you have opted in).

What rights you have over your data
You can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Your data may be transferred or stored in various countries around the world, in order to facilitate our services. For example, we are based in Canada and our hosting provider’s servers are based in the USA. Additionally, we utilize a content delivery network and services from Cloudflare to speed up page loading times and decrease loads on the server. Your data may be transferred through the Cloudflare global network in order to administer normal operations of our site and services.
We use encryption to protect both your data and our data before it is transferred over the internet. Mozilla put it well: “Encryption makes it difficult for unauthorized people to view information travelling between computers. It is therefore unlikely that anyone read this page (or data) as it travelled across the network.”
